Major lineup changes bring in new challenges, regardless of title or discipline. Borrowing from Buchholz and Roth; “Wearing the same shirts doesn’t make you a team.”

Working out team cohesion is never easy, but our CS:GO team has proven through consistent results and triumphs that they have come together to form a brilliant squad and have yet to showcase their limits.

The first season of the revamped ESL Oceanic national championship, the ESL ANZ Champs Season 10, was but one of an array of tournaments to bring in Avant’s 2020 competitive year, with the ESEA MDL, and Katowice qualifiers also occurring within the first 3 months.

Our trailblaze through the ESL ANZ Champs Season 10 Stage 1 was nothing short of remarkable, with only two out of eleven games being dropped, one to Chiefs ESC and ORDER respectively, netting a first place seed into the Grand Finals and allowing us to select an opponent out of the Stage 2 qualified teams.

Our opponents, Airborne E.C. fell 2-0, and ORDER felled Ground Zero 2-1, resulting in a rematch that would set the stage for one of the biggest powerhouse clashes we’ve seen this year so far.
Ultimately Avant triumphed over ORDER 3-1, thus becoming the Season 10 ESL ANZ Champions, and awarding us a seed to the DreamHack Open! (DH Open dates TBA)
